AEROSOL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS FOR INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

The AeroPro is an innovative, handy aerosol extinguishing system that has been specially developed for fast and effective use on class A, B, C and F fires (DIN EN2).

The AeroPro generators can be retrofitted anywhere and offer immediate protection. Fire detection and extinguishing function automatically. The generators can be integrated into existing systems, are low-maintenance and cost-effective.

The system can be triggered in various ways:

  • manually/thermally: using a thermodynamic thermo glass ampoule
  • pneumatic: with a pressurised cylinder for use in ATEX areas
  • electrical: via heat and smoke detectors

The triggering principle can be selected according to the location and conditions.

Examples Sea freight container - thermal release, neither power nor control required
ATEX area - pneumatic with a pressurised cylinder

We will be happy to design the right system for you. The AeroPro generators are available in the following standard tripping temperatures:

*Other temperatures are possible on request

The design is based on the max. ambient temperature. (max. ambient temperature + 25° safety => tripping temperature)

The AeroPro generators are available in four different sizes.

Size Protection volume for class A* fire
(VdS guideline 2381)
Generator size
Ø / length (mm)
Weight (kg) Duration
Aerosol generation
50 0.5 m³ = 500 litres Ø46 x 137mm 0.38 kg 4 s
200 2 m³ = 2,000 litres Ø88 x 118mm 0.9 kg 5 s
300 3 m³ = 3,000 litres Ø88 x 198mm 1.3 kg 7 s
2000 20 m³ = 20,000 litres Ø202 x 255mm 7.5 kg 12 s

The AeroPro uses an advanced pyrotechnical triggering system to release an extremely fine aerosol extinguishing agent mist made of potassium carbonate. The particle size is approximately 1µm, allowing the mist to spread quickly and evenly throughout the fire room and initiate firefighting immediately. This extinguishing mist suppresses the flames efficiently, as the potassium carbonate removes the necessary oxidising agent from the fire and at the same time lowers the temperature without reducing the oxygen content of the ambient air.

Potassium carbonate is physiologically harmless in very fine particle sizes of 0.5 µm to 2.5 µm. It is also authorised as a food additive E501, known as "potash". This makes AeroPro a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional extinguishing systems.

The generators are unpressurised and have a service life of up to 10 years under normal industrial conditions and up to 5 years under severe conditions.

The temperature application limits range from -40°C to max. 85°C.

The generators are dust and water resistant (IP65).

The AeroPro generators must be installed in the upper third of the protective volume. They must be installed vertically with the release head pointing upwards and a maximum angle of rotation of +/- 45°. The extinguishing agent flows out at the bottom of the generator.

In general, the AeroPro also works in rooms that are actively ventilated. The air flow can even have a positive effect on the incubation and distribution of the extinguishing mist. In the case of large ventilation or extraction systems, a decision must be made on a case-by-case basis. In combination with our fire extinguishing control centre, however, it is possible to influence the control of the ventilation in the event of a fire in order to create ideal extinguishing conditions.

In combination with the multialert® mini, the AeroPro extinguishing system can also be triggered remotely in the event of smouldering fires. The multialert® mini establishes contact between a smoke detector with a signal output (potential-free contact) and the AeroPro. The fire is detected by the smoke detector, the signal is forwarded and proactive extinguishing is triggered.

By using state-of-the-art control technology (fire extinguishing control centre), it is possible to cascade several aerosol generators and connect additional peripheral devices, such as smoke switches for smouldering fire detection. All devices have potential-free contacts that enable the triggering information to be forwarded to higher-level systems such as fire alarm systems (FAS), fire alarm control panels (FACP) or programmable logic controllers (PLC).

The AeroPro generators are constructed without pressure and are therefore low-maintenance.

The service life of up to 10 years should not be exceeded.

Many insurance companies offer attractive benefits for preventive fire protection measures. These range from discounted premiums to higher amounts of cover when settling claims in the event of a fire. Those who invest in fire protection at an early stage not only protect their property, but can also benefit from considerable financial relief.
